From Stuck to Aligned: A Different Way Forward

I was in Bisbee on my birthday when I came across a set of stairs.

Bisbee is known for its stairways. Some routes climb over 1,000 steps.

Standing there, I thought, that’s a lot.

Not just physically, but mentally. The kind of climb that can feel overwhelming before you even begin.

And it made me think about how often we approach our own lives that same way.

We look at everything at once. All the decisions. All the uncertainty. All the things that feel off.

We try to make the right decision.
We try to avoid getting it wrong.
We try to see the full path before taking the first step.

No wonder we feel stuck.

Feeling stuck is not usually about not knowing what to do.

It is often about something no longer aligning.

Something does not sit right. Something feels off. You can feel it, even if you cannot fully explain it yet.

And instead of slowing down to understand it, we push through.

We stay in situations longer than we should.
We say yes when we mean no.
We ignore the tension and tell ourselves it will pass.

But that feeling does not go away. It usually gets louder.

Not to create confusion, but to get your attention.

Clarity does not come from pressure.

It comes from honesty.

That set of stairs reminded me of something simple but important.

This is not a straight path.

We move up.
We move down.
We pause.
We move again.

Sometimes we feel like we are making progress.
Sometimes we feel like we are starting over.

Sometimes we stop, not because we are incapable, but because we are overwhelmed.

And sometimes we stop because something in us knows we need to reassess.

That is not failure.

That is awareness.

Instead of trying to figure everything out, what if the focus was smaller and more grounded?

What if the goal was not to solve everything, but to take one step that feels aligned?

This is the shift I keep coming back to:

Values → Clarity → Purpose → Aligned

Not as steps you rush through, but as a way to move through moments of uncertainty.

Values help you remember what matters.
Clarity helps you see what is true.
Purpose helps you decide how to move.
Aligned is what it feels like when those things come together.

This is not about getting it perfect.

It is about being honest enough to notice what is no longer working and intentional enough to choose something different.

If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what comes next, start here.

Pause.

Take a breath.

You do not need to have everything figured out to begin.

You just need a moment of honesty.

I created a simple reflection to support this process. It is meant to help you slow down, reconnect with what matters, and take one step forward with intention.

You can access the worksheet here: From Stuck to Aligned: A 10-Minute Reset

Give yourself a few minutes to sit with it.

You might be surprised by what comes up when you stop trying to solve everything and instead start paying attention.

This is the kind of work I do through Rooted Bloom Collective.

Creating space for people to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters.

Not by giving answers, but by helping you find your own clarity, use your voice, and move forward in a way that feels aligned.

I know I did not do all 1,000 steps in one day.

And that felt like the right decision.

Maybe that is the point.

You do not need to figure everything out.
You do not need to take every step today.

You just need to take the next one in a way that feels true to you.

Even if it is small.
Even if it is quiet.
Even if no one else understands it yet.

That is still movement.

This is not about becoming someone new.

It is about returning to what already matters.

And choosing to move in alignment with it.

One step at a time.

Rooted in values. Blooming with purpose.
